The Movie ... You know the one
I have been asked two questions lately – “Have I seen The Passion of the Christ?” and “Did I consider it anti-Semitic?”
Yes – twice. And it was anything but anti-Semitic. Mel Gibson did a simply amazing job of reminding the audience that Jesus is Jewish.
But what is of most importance is that this movie has created opportunities for not just “interfaith dialogue,” but for real witnessing encounters with Jewish people.
Standing in the movie line, I met a women burdened for her Jewish daughter-in-law. Her granddaughter, Hillary*, also emailed me to ask how she could witness to her step-mother. Please pray for both of them!
I also responded to a letter to the editor in The Dallas Morning News from Mary* who is concerned she now be a target of anti-Semitism. Please pray that my words will reach Mary’s heart and that she will be bold enough to respond to my request that we meet to discuss Jesus. Happy reading! And I would love to hear from you!

The Objectives, Values and Mission of Tzedakah Ministries
There is not enough space to list all the objectives of Tzedakah Ministries. However, they can be summarized by this one statement – “to create awareness of the need and provide tools for Christians who want to share their faith with Jewish people.”
The primary core value of Tzedakah Ministries is the need for Christians to recognize the primary of Jewish evangelism. This primacy can only happen when the church accepts the privilege of following and obeying Romans 1:16.
The mission of the ministry is simple – “to provide Christians with the Scriptural knowledge, spiritual resources and practical applications for the presentation of the Gospel to the Jewish People and to provide for the discipleship of new Jewish believers.”
If you would like a complete listing of the ministry’s values and objectives, please let Tzedakah Ministries know.
The next issue of Tzedakah Times will focus on the ministry’s “Statement of Faith.”

Getting Ready for Passover
“You know that after two days is the feast of the Passover, and the Son of Man is betrayed to be crucified.” (Matthew 26:2)
Can you imagine how Jesus felt as he prepared himself for His last Passover? A holiday that he as God the Father initiated 1,400 years before to commemorate liberation from Egyptian slavery was now going to be the moment of His ultimate sacrifice for the sins of the world.
While others were busy preparing the Upper Room, Jesus was preparing to become the suffering servant and the Passover lamb.
This gift of love never ceases to amaze me! He knew what He was headed towards and still He prepared himself to die in our place. Such love is impossible to comprehend.
Due to Jesus’ act of mercy, we are given freedom from the punishment of spiritual slavery. Due to His resurrection, we are liberated from the judgment that we deserve.
What love! What mercy! What grace! As we prepare for Easter (Passover), let us keep in mind what was done for us 2,000 years ago on Calvary’s hill. His preparation made our deliverance possible.
